Activities

Harry Howlett and Keith Sonley are the Co-convenors of the Wildlife Group which is now up and running. Our first trip was in August to a Falconry Centre with a "Welcome" meeting in September where we were able to meet many of the members and review ideas for visits and meeting topics.

October saw us doing some fungi foraging in Hodgemoor Woods, while  in November  we reviewed a collection of "Unusual visitors to our gardens" which generated some interesting stories, and in January we organised a group visit to the "Whales Beneath the Surface" exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London. At our February meeting Dinah Latham gave a very interesting talk about taking up shepherding in later life and her experiences with her bearded collie Harriet.

Harry and Keith have been very pleased to see the enthusiasm of the group with attendance of 15-30 at each event.

We look to alternative external visits with in-house meetings at Amersham Common Village Hall. While the in-house meetings are held at 2:30 pm the timing of the external events may change according to the nature and location of the event.

Listed below are the confirmed events , with more ideas being pursued.

All new members are welcome and if you would like to join the group, please email the convenors on wildlife@cvu3a.uk
