Date and Time    Every monday in term time.  5:30 pm - 7.00 pm
Meeting Place   united Free church, woodside road, Amersham

The group comprises nearly 40 members who have been singing together for about eight years. We meet each Monday evening during term time from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. at the Free Church in Amersham.

Our sessions are led by a local, qualified choir leader who is assisted by an accompanist. There is a small termly charge to cover expenses. We sing a very varied repertoire from classic choral pieces to items from musicals as well as pop songs both in unison and four- part harmony.

Occasionally we take part in local musical events but participation in these is optional. We also sing to residents of care homes and day centres within the vicinity from time to time. The emphasis of the sessions is very much on the enjoyment and benefit of singing together.

The sessions are great fun and light-hearted but with an element of challenge. There is no audition ordeal and the ability to read music is not essential. Most members of the group learn the songs by rote or use YouTube as a helpful tool.

Our choir leader sends us MP3 accompaniments in each of the four parts to enable us to practise at home. We are a very friendly group and would really welcome some new members, especially tenors and basses.

If you enjoy singing and think you might like to join us then come along for a taster session first. Contact either of the convenors if you're interested.
