Singing at the U3a 10th Anniversary event in October was the highlight of this term and we received several compliments afterwards about our performance.  These were greatly appreciated!

In response to an invitation from Churches on the Hill we are taking part in Amersham Christmas Tree Festival which runs from 1st December to 6th January in St. Michael’s Church, Amersham.  The proceeds from participating in this event will benefit four local charities. Click here for picture

As a result, members have been busy searching in their Christmas decorations boxes looking for items with a musical theme.  Some of the group have shown amazing creativity and made their own contributions.  Come along and have a look!

During the next few weeks members of the group will be singing at several local venues.  Some will be performing at Latimer Church on Sunday, 16th December as they have done for the last few years.  On the same day others in the group will be entertaining elderly residents in Holmer Green.  This event has been organised by the Holmer Green Village Society.

There will also, of course, be our usual informal concert for family and friends at our end of term session in December.

If you enjoy singing and would like to join us or just come along for a ‘taster’ then please contact one of the convenors.  We are a very friendly, supportive group and the sessions are great fun; the emphasis being on the enjoyment and benefits of singing.

We sing a wide repertoire of songs ranging from choral pieces to pop music. There is no audition ordeal and the ability to read music, while an advantage, is not necessary; most singers learn the songs by heart or with the help of Youtube.

In addition Keith, our choir leader, sends MP3 accompaniments via email for the individual four part harmonies. These enable us to practise at home.

The group meets each Monday from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. at Amersham Free Church.  There is a small termly charge to cover expenses.

If you enjoy singing and think you might like to join us then come along for a taster session first. Contact either of the convenors if you're interested.
